The Suicide Squad : A "peaceful" movie by James Gunn !!

 The Suicide Squad is a refreshing start of the 2016 David Ayer's movie. James Gunn's viewpoint of  introducing so many unknown character from the DC comics (like MCU's Guardians) did a fine job.  The first 10-15 minutes justifies the title of the movie and that is just the start of twist and turns of violence, romance (yes there is!!) and drama with a big Starfish haunting all of us. 

The story overall is an enjoyable ride. It does not make you feel bored and keeps you excited for the next moment. The cinematography does a good job in making the story not too dark but still has a violent tone all around. Gunn's music choice is impeccable as we have seen in the GOTG movies. A lot of laughable moments with dramatic twists gives you a nice feeling at the end of the movie.  The humour is exactly on the borderline so that it does not get cheesy. The violence is more than expected but it is depicted in a comic book fashion (if you are bit squeamish this may be a problem for some scens). The two postcredit scenes play a key role in the continuation of this franchise (in particular to the Series Peacemaker directed by Gunn which will stream in HBOMax). 

There are tons of characters to talk about in this movie. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) reprise their similar roles and they do really shine and give more depth to their characters. BloodSport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), King Shark (voiced by Sylvester Stallone) and The Polka Dot Man ( David Dastmalchian) are new perfect additions to this Suicide group and they each get their own screentime to establish their presence.  I do really hope that this characters get their sequels in the coming movies hopefully with Suicide Squad 2. As usual with comic movies and Gunn in the team, it is filled with tons of easter eggs. If you are a DC nerd, you will enjoy finding it watching it over and over again in HBOMax. 

So to conclude, The Suicide Squad is a fun movie to watch and to relax for a weekend evening. Do check it out !!

Hummingbirds : A unique documentary about slice of life addressing tons of current issues in USA .

Antman and The Wasp : Quantamania : A chaotic hasty introduction to the next multiversal threat of the MCU.

 I got interested into the realm of superhero movies in depth when the Marvel movies really tried to make a business in the cinema industry. Especially, movies like  Captain America : Civil War and the others where the ones I got caught with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even these movies have dramas and made mostly in big scale for commercial success, the underlying idea of superheroes dating from comics and connecting all the movies to have an epic finale against a big villain intrigues me.
